Best Places to Sell your Jewelry

All right! So we have the jewelry with diamonds and gemstones, we know what its worth, and now we have to find someone who will give the right price for our jewelry. Of course you are thinking nothing can go wrong now, but that’s exactly where you go wrong. Most people I have seen either get too impatient or too cocky after reaching this stage. But you will not be one of them. There are two aspects to making a good deal – finding the right guy, and getting the right price for our jewelry items from him. There can be many kinds of people who might turn out to be the right guy for you, but we will cover only three – the safe ones.

First comes the jewelers. Jewelers purchase jewelry 20 to 25% below the Rap value. So chances are that they will give nothing more than 60% or the dump value of the jewelry. They might actually try to grab your jewelry at less than the dump value, but you are not one of those to be taken to the cleaners. You know exactly what your jewelry, diamonds and gemstones is worth. Eventually a jeweler will realize that and give you what you ask for. If he doesn’t, someone else will. Move along.

But there are two things to keep in mind while dealing with individual jewelers. First, not all of them have the liquid cash at all times to pay for your merchandise. Make sure your one does, he has no reason to waste your time if he can’t pay up immediately. The second is that patience is the key to making headway in jewelry business – you will have to see six or seven jewelry people before getting your price. But you will, so don’t lose patience.

Now we consider the next party – the Diamond and Gemstones wholesalers and Diamond Dealer’s Clubs. Now these people will give you a little less than the individual jewelers, but are the right choice if you want a quick sale. How? Let me explain. Jewelers work alone and do not have liquid cash as most of their asset is in the form of jewelry that they need to keep in their inventory. But these diamond and gemstones wholesalers are the ones who supply diamonds to the local jewelry stores. They have a common inflow of money, and they can pay you instantly. But that convenience costs something, thus the lower rate. Use these guys if you need the cash that urgently. They can be found in every major city – look them up in the Yellow Pages under ‘Diamonds – Wholesale’.

Finally we come to the last and believe me, this is really the last option you might wanna consider. It’s the Pawnbroker. I personally don’t like these people – and this has nothing to do with the fact that they pry jewelry from desperate customers at 10% of the wholesale value. They can actually be great places to buy stuff, but that is not what we are looking for right now, is it? So, considering their customer base, it’s quite likely they will not give you what you ask for. But still, no harm trying, right? So what you do is call them up and make your offer. If in the odd case someone agrees, head for him and finalize the deal.
So we are done with our first mission. You made the most out of your jewelry. Now you have, not only the cash that you were vying for, but also the irreplaceable satisfaction of knowing that you got a fair price for your jewelry with diamond and gemstones. Now, if you are hungry for more, then you can dig a little deeper, and try to master the tricks of the trade.
