It is likely to take 10 days to shape and cut the Argyle Pink Jubilee, a 12.76 carat pink diamond recently unearthed by mining giant Rio Tinto in the east Kimberley region of Western Australia. In its history of 26 years, this has been the biggest pink diamond ever found by the company in the region which supplies globally more than 90% of pink diamonds.

Richard How Kim Kam, a veteran with the company for 25 years has been assigned the workmanship of skillfully cutting and polishing it. Later, the completed pink gem would be assessed by a group of international experts and then sold. According to previous auctions, pink diamonds usually have fetched twenty times the price of an equivalent white diamond.
