Product Pricing and Availability

If there is a product listed on our site which is currently out of stock, please contact us and we will be able to guide you as to when that product will be back in stock. Sometimes, due to volume of the orders we receive, an item may become out of stock before we are able to post the changes to our site. If this scenario occurs, we will notify you personally so that we may help you find another item or let you know when/if that item will be back in stock.

 

It is sometimes the case that the data on our website may be inaccurate. While we make every effort to prevent these errors from occurring they may still occur. We reserve the right to correct any and all errors when they do occur and we do not honor inaccurate or erroneous prices. Our prices are also subject to change without notice. Custom Orders

We welcome all custom orders and consider that our area of expertise. If there is a piece of jewelry that you like and we don't have it as part of our collection, we will through our custom jewelry process make a similar piece for you. We generally provide you a complementary quote within 1-2 business days of your inquiry. Please Note: All sales on custom orders are final. We require at least one good picture or sketch of the item you would like us to produce. In order to fasten the process, please have a picture or sketch ready that you can email or mail to us before you contact us.

We carry an extensive inventory of fancy colored diamonds. However, at this time we have not been able to put that inventory up on our website. In the unlikely event, if you find an exactly same item somewhere else for less, let us know about it. On most, if not all, cases we will match the price of our competitor.

We try to provide as much flexibility as possible to our customers. Thus, if you prefer, you can view your loose diamond or gemstone before it is set. Once you purchase your loosed diamond or gemstone, send it back to us and we will incorporate it into your ring or pendant.

 
Purchase Your Loose Diamond or Gemstone From us and Let us Set It Into Your Jewelry

If you already have a jewelry piece and would like to purchase a loose diamond or gemstone from us for that piece, we will set it for you! However, such sale of our loose diamonds and gemstones, will void our 30-day return policy and all sales will be considered final. Removing loose stones from jewelry may cause minor damage to the stone.

 
Ring Size

If your GemsNY ring doesn't fit, we will resize it for a $50 charge within 30days of its original shipment. Resizing generally takes 5-7 business days.

Debit Card Policy

Banks treat debit cards differently than a credit card. A debit card displays a credit card logo much like a credit card, like AMEX or Visa, but a charge to your debit card uses funds directly from your bank account. The main difference is that your bank normally institutes a daily charge limit on your debit card. If the price of your order exceeds a daily limit set on your debit card we will notify you, as this will prohibit us from processing your order.

 

Possible alternatives to this are:

  • Place your order with wire transfer and receive 1.5% discount. A wire transfer is an easy process where you contact your bank to have them move your funds from your bank account to ours. We allow bank transfers on all size orders. Wire transfers works much like a debit card but it requires some direct communication with your bank to allow for a larger amount transaction. Please contact us and we will send you the easy instructions. Banks may take few days to transfer your funds.
  • Place your order with credit card. If you order before 3pm, your order will begin processing the same day.
  • Or simply call your bank and request a one-time waiver of the daily charge limit.
 
All Our Shipments are Insured
All our shipments are fully insured all the way to you. This means that during the entire transit time from the time your package leaves our premises to the time it arrives at your door steps and you sign it, it will be covered under insurance. For security purposes, ALL of our orders will require your signature, regardless of any signature waivers you have with the courier (which in most, if not all, cases will be FedEx).
 
International Shipments

We accept all orders over $750 from all international countries. Purchases can be made directly from our site. However, if you wish to place an order directly with a trained gemologist please contact us at (888) 436-7692 or email us at info@gemsny.com. Please keep in mind our business hours and time difference; we operate on Eastern Standard Time Zone (EST).

 
Saturday Delivery
Our Saturday Delivery service is processed through FedEx and is available in most US cities. If Saturday delivery is not available in your area, we can arrange for you to pick up your package at the nearest FedEx location. Alternate Shipping Addresses

We can ship your order to another location instead of the billing address on your credit card. However, as a security measure we require that this alternate shipping address be on file with your credit card company. This is a very important measure in protecting you from any fraudulent charges on your credit card.

We understand that you may wish to keep your purchase a surprise from your gift recipient and thus can ship to an alternative address convenient to you. However, we require that this alternative shipping address be on file with your credit card company. This is a very important measure in protecting you from fraudulent charges on your credit card.
 
All return merchandise must accompany the original certificate and appraisal

Most, if not all, of our products come with an appraisal and an original certificate. These certificates are created very carefully by trained gemologists from either a third party or from our laboratories. These reports are generally very lengthy and detailed oriented and thus are quite expensive to replace. Thus, we require that any merchandise that is returned back to us be returned with the original certificate and appraisal.

If either the original certificate and/or appraisal are not returned to us, a replacement fee will be assessed to your refund.

 
Laser Inscriptions

We laser inscribe all our gems more than $2,000 in value. If your gem is less than $2,000 in value, we can inscribe it with your personal message for a $35 fee. Please contact us at (888) 436-7692 or info@gemsny.com to laser inscribe your gem.

Please note that personal laser inscriptions will void our 30-day return policy and will be for final sale.

 
Sales Tax
We collect sales tax only on orders shipped to addresses in New York State.
 
Return Policy
Most of our products carry a hassle free 30-day return policy. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, simply return it back to us within 30 days from the date of the shipment for a full refund or exchange. Please note that expedited shipping charges will not be refunded. For list of products that are not covered under the policy, please see our 30-Day Returns Policy for further details.
 
Comparison Purchasing

We understand deciding between different products can be difficult over the internet. This is why we allow our customers to order 3 items at a time to compare. Due to inventory constraints, only loose sapphires and emeralds are currently allowed for comparison shopping. We can send you up to 3 loose gems at a time for comparison. Please note that the return policy for comparison shopping orders is 2 week from the date of shipment. If items are not returned to us within the 2 week, we will need to charge 10% restocking fees.

Information on Our Web Site

We make every effort to ensure that our website information is as accurate and complete as possible. To provide greater detail of our products, we sometimes make our products appear smaller or larger than the actual size in our photographs. Also, since every computer monitor is set differently, size and color may vary slightly.

We try to provide as much information as possible regarding your prospective purchase so that you can see the beauty and shape of a particular item. In compliance with industry standards and FTC regulations, GemsNY states that carat total weight in all purchases may vary upto 0.05 carats from stated weight.

The measurements that we provide of our products are taken by us to the best of our ability. GemsNY is in no way to be held responsible for errors that were caused in measuring the weight or dimensions or any other form of measurement.

Also, for items containing multiple diamonds, we list the average grade and measurement for color, clarity, and carat weight. These averages are calculated by adding all grades or measurements that comprise the inventory with regard to that particular piece of merchandise, and determining the closest average.
