Diamond Stud Earrings For Kim And Kanye's Daughter

The daughter of realty star Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West has been gifted an expensive diamond and stud earrings for her first birthday by her celebrity parents. Reportedly about half a carat weight set in platinum, the dazzling diamond and the stud is estimated to cost $1,500.

The simple diamond stud earrings were spotted when the family set out to celebrate the special day which also falls on the Father's Day at the Children's Museum Of Manhattan.

Largest Flawless Blue Diamond Auctioned For Record Price

At the recent Christie's Geneva auction an extremely rare pear-shaped blue diamond was sold for $23.8 million record price. The stunningly flawless 13.22 carat gem is reportedly the largest vivid blue diamond in the world.

According to the auction house, in the past decade, only three blue diamonds of 10 carats or more with the same vivid grading for intensity have been sold at auction, all weighing less than 12 carats and none flawless. Reportedly mined in South Africa, 'The Blue' as it is called also set a world auction record of $2 million per carat for a blue diamond.

Further, seven records were set at the Geneva auction including the highest amount ever paid for a yellow diamond - $16.3 million for the 100.09-carat Graff Vivid Yellow diamond ring.

Other gemstones jewelry which was sold much higher than the estimates included a 1912 Cartier diamond brooch for $17.5 million, 660 percent more than when it was first sold at Christie's in Geneva in 1991, and a pear-shaped and D-color flawless 75.97-carat diamond sold for almost $14.5 million.

Sotheby's this Spring auction sold a world record $141.5 million in jewelry.

Diamond Ring On 'The' Finger Sparks Rumors For Amber

Amber Heard was spotted recently wearing a huge diamond ring on her engagement finger. This has sparked a series of rumors that Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have got engaged. Amber, 27 and Johnny, 50 have been together for more than a year now but the ring was a surprise.

Since the actress has been attempting to hide the ring, a detailed image of the diamond ring is yet to surface.

An Exceedingly Rare Pink Diamond Sells For World Record Price

A stunning pink diamond measuring 2.69cm by 2.06cm and of about 60 carats was sold for $83m at a Sotheby's auction in Geneva recently. The world record price received for this diamond surpassed the earlier cost of $46m for a diamond.

Originally 132.5 carat in its rough state, it has taken almost two years to cut and polish the rare pink diamond. Renamed as the Pink Dream, the diamond was mined by De Beers in Africa in 1999.

Sotheby's has sold almost $200m worth of jewelry in its current auction, a record for a single auction according to the company.

World Record Price For A Briolette Diamond

At the recently held Christie’s Magnificent Jewels Spring Sale in Hong Kong, a D-colored IF Diamond briolette of 75.36 carats was sold for a world record price of US$11,151,245.The diamond is reportedly the largest and the most perfect briolette diamond ever offered for sale at an auction.

Few other stunning pieces fetched valuable prices at the 28th May sale. These include a diamond and emerald drop fringe necklace, a pair of Burmese ruby and diamond ear pendants, a set of jadeite and diamond jewelry and an oval-shaped Burmese ruby and diamond ring of 8.88 carats. The total auction generated US$82,947,664

Jolie's Two Stunning Jewels To Be Auctioned In Hong Kong

At the Jewelry and Jadeite Spring Auction 2013 in Hong Kong on 15 June, two of the Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie’s pieces of jewelry will be put for auction. One is an intricately designed and crafted antique diamond choker which the actress wore in the film The Tourist in 2010 and the other is an emerald ring worn at the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 2 at the Cannes Film Festival in France in 2011.

The vintage-styled choker is an exquisite piece which was specially designed for the character ‘Elise’ in the film. Highlighted by six oscillating old-cut diamonds and set with intertwining wreaths of diamond-set laurel leaves, the choker is a gorgeous piece reflecting the splendor and elegance of the early twentieth century.

The emerald ring was designed by Angelina in collaboration with Robert Procop. It is a simple bezel-set 9.17-carat cushion-shaped emerald ring which lets the beautiful gemstone invite all the admiration with its sheer vivid color.

The proceedings from this auction will be donated to Education Partnership for Children in Conflict (EPCC), a nonprofit group founded by Angelina Jolie which is committed to placing the out-of-school children in the war-affected areas worldwide.

Christie's HK Sale To Feature A Purplish-Pink Diamond

A spectacular diamond necklace worth about $12.5 million is to be auctioned at the grand Christie's Hong Kong’s Magnificent Jewels sale on May 28. The diamond pendant necklace features a marquise-cut purplish pink diamond suspending a 75.36-carat, D, internally flawless, type IIa briolette diamond.

This is a part of a range of stunning jewels that are highly anticipated in the show. About 250 jewels engraved with fine precious gems and intricately carved designs are for sale. Another gorgeous ornament that is being highlighted is an emerald and diamond necklace by Boucheron, circa 1950s, carrying eight emeralds, old European and cushion-cut diamonds, and baguette-cut diamonds. Also, a diamond and ruby ring by James W. Currens with a natural 8.88-carat center oval ruby, pear and marquise-cut diamonds, is a leading jewel on sale.

Reportedly, the Hong Kong auction will also feature jadeite and diamond jewelry, and pearl jewelry.

Sofia Vergara Dazzles In Jewels Worth $1Million

The Modern Family star Sofia Vergara adorned herself with a stunning range of jewelry at the 2013 White House Correspondents’ Dinner recently. Reportedly, the highest paid television star in the US, Vergara’s ornaments for the day included a diamond and ruby mesh cuff, ruby and pink sapphire earrings, diamond, ruby and pink sapphire and amethyst bangles and a diamond and ruby flower ring. The jewels on her were estimated to be one million dollars. And she shared “I felt like a million dollars!" in her Vogue photo dairy.

World Record Sale Price For An Extremely Rare Deep-Blue Diamond Ring

A 5.30 carat ‘fancy’ blue diamond, set in a Trombino ring was recently sold at a London auction for $1.8m per carat beating the previous record for a blue diamond, which was $1.68m per carat. The ring believed to be carved in 1965 features a cushion-shaped diamond set horizontally within a mount of brilliant-cut diamonds and baguette-cut diamonds.

Blue diamonds are structurally very pure and account for less than 1% of all diamonds mined. Specifically, a deep blue diamond is considered extremely rare. The ten minute auction attracted about 20 buyers on the phone. The ring fetched 6.2million pounds much higher than its estimate of 1.5 million pounds.

A 34.65-carat Pink Cushion-Cut Golconda Diamond Auctioned For $39.3 Million At Christie's

Originating from the famous ancient diamond mines of Golconda in the Southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, the Princie Diamond was sold at the Christie’s New York Spring Magnificent Jewels sale for a record price of $39.3 million. At more than $1.1 million per carat the precious stone is a highly valuable gem coming from this region.

The stunning fancy intense pink cushion-cut diamond was once owned by the Royal family of Hyderabad, rulers of one of the wealthiest provinces of the Mughal Empire. The diamond was purchased by the London branch of Van Cleef & Arpels for £46,000 when it was first auctioned in 1960. Considered the most chemically pure and possessing rare optical transparency, this Type IIa diamond was christened the “Princie” in honor of the 14-year-old Prince of Baroda, who attended Van Cleef & Arpels’ party at its Paris store with his mother Maharani Sita in 1960.

According to the auction house besides the Christie’s sale of the legendary collection of Elizabeth Taylor, this was the most successful jewelry auction ever held in the United States.
